A few things I’d genuinely like to hear about:
- Hotels you’ve stayed at that you think should (or shouldn’t) be on one of the guides — especially the historic ryokan, where real reviews take multiple visits.
- Corrections — prices change, chefs move, train timetables shift. If you spot something stale, flag it.
- Day trip suggestions you think most Kyoto guides miss. The northern villages and the Lake Biwa side get very little English coverage.
What I’m less likely to reply to: pitches for guest posts, link-swap requests, and “partnership” emails. If that’s why you’re writing, there’s nothing here for you.
